Indoors in Swan Hill

Indoor plants and Mallee houses

Our summers mean air conditioning and our winters mean heaters. Both dry the air, so placement matters.

LIGHT

Bright, not baking

Most indoor plants want bright light but not direct afternoon sun through west-facing glass.

AIR

Away from the vents

Keep plants at least a metre from split systems and heaters. Calatheas and ferns feel it first.

WATER

Less in winter

Plants grow slowly in the cool months. Check the mix with your finger and only water when the top few centimetres are dry.
