Our story

Rooted in the Mallee

Peta-Lyn was born in Swan Hill and grew up on her father's dairy farm. In 1981 she and John took on that old block and started planting. The soil was salty and the summers were hard, so they learned what works the slow way. That's the advice you get at the counter.

Are you open on public holidays?

Yes. We're open 7 days, including public holidays from 10am to 4pm. Christmas and Easter hours can vary, so ring us on 0409 389 586 if you're not sure.

Can you order in a plant I can't find?

Just ask. If we haven't got it, we'll do our utmost to track it down. Give us a call on 0409 389 586 or drop in for a chat.

Do you deliver or sell online?

Not at the moment. We're an in-store nursery, so you get proper advice about what will work in your garden. To check stock before you come, ring 0409 389 586.

Can you help with salty soil?

Yes, it's what we know best. Peta-Lyn and John have gardened salty ground on their own 3-acre block for over four decades. Saltbush, wattles, olives, figs and pomegranates are good places to start, but the right pick depends on your soil and aspect, so come in and tell us about it. See our salt tolerant plants.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome.
